Finding that if I read from my to-do books, according to readers' ratings, then the YA books are at the top of the heap. I've read soooo many YA books, I need some gritty mystery or something.
However, back to A Monster Calls. Lovely illustrations even on Kindle. Predictable, but not in a bad way. Very real, in fact. Really get a feel for Conor's anguish as he deals with mom's cancer.
Very short book, but accomplishes its mission. Able to borrow from library.
